Elliot Choueka

Elliot became a journalist the traditional way earning his stripes as a gofer on work experience at the BBC, ITN and other broadcasters in Manchester. Following a B.Sc in Combined Health Studies, Elliot went on to do a Post Graduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism at Cardiff University. On leaving university, he became the BBC Network News producer with correspondent Wyre Davies.

In London Elliot first joined BBC News 24 and then moved onto BBC Breakfast News prior to producing and directing a broad spectrum of magazine and documentary programmes for News 24 Features. Subjects included the 2001 Race Riots in Northern England and collaborating with Charles Wheeler on the 40th anniversary of JFK’s assassination. As producer/director at BBC Two’s ‘Money Programme’, Elliot covered subjects as diverse as the housing market, Elle Macpherson’s lingerie empire and “How Green is Your High Street”, an investigation of British retailers’ attitudes to the green economy. The programme included interviews with John Varley CEO of Barclays and Tesco CEO, Sir Terry Leahy and other big business chiefs.

After ten years at the BBC spurred on by his growing interest in the corporate sector, Elliot joined a small corporate photography agency to set up their video department servicing clients such as Barclays, InterContinental Hotels Group and Boeing. In 2009 keen to have his own set up, he joined forces with fellow journalist John Greenwood to create Greenacre Communications.

“I’ve always wanted to communicate the big issues of the day. Now that I’m a father, I have a bigger investment than ever in health and the environment.”

John Greenwood - Greenacre Communications

John Greenwood

A seasoned journalist John has spent forty years in newspapers, radio and television. A senior producer at the BBC, he has worked on international news channel BBC World, BBC News 24 and Breakfast News in all areas of reporting, editing and production. He’s also worked for a variety of news organisations – Sky News, TV–am, IRN and Euronews.

His career has placed him at the centre of major national and international events. On assignment for Independent Radio News, he found himself in Moscow just as the horrors of Chernobyl were beginning to unfold. The experience started his interest in both health and environmental issues, especially energy production. His work as producer on “Hardtalk” featured European Union expansion involving the progress and problems of the EU’s nuclear industry. Other programmes took him around the world looking at aspects of the automotive business featuring interviews with the heads of companies like Honda, Hyundai, Fiat and Chrysler. John has worked domestically and internationally with business heads and politicians at head of government level and figures from the world stage such as Madeleine Albright and Shimon Perez.

John has worked on both sides of the microphone as a presenter, editor and producer in the UK and around the world. In addition to health and the environment, his particular interests include politics and science, themes he was able to promote internationally as editor of “Europe Direct”.

When not working in London, John spends his time maintaining a composting toilet at his tiny French cottage and is passionate about both recycling and cycling. Last summer he cycled from Germany through Austria along the Danube and is planning another trip to continue his course to the Black Sea from Vienna to Budapest this year.

“How to explain some of the most important medical and eco-issues mankind has ever faced in a simple and entertaining way – that’s our challenge and we’re up for it” he says.
